Sri Darshan Shankar has been awarded with the prestigious Padma Shri Award in the field of Public Affairs, by the Govt. of India, on the occasion of the 61st Republic Day, 26th of January in the year 2011.
‘Padma Shri' is conferred on a citizen of India for distinguished service of the highest order in any field.
Sri Darshan Shankar has a uniquely distinguished career as an entrepreneur, educationist, visionary and a follower of traditional knowledge systems.
His ability, to make the vision a reality, is what differentiates him from most of his peers. His name has, till date, been synonymous with perseverance, dedication, and recognition of a larger purpose in all human endeavors to revitalize Indian medical heritage.
By dedicating his life to establishing world-class healthcare, and education infrastructure and expertise in India in Indian systems of medicine, Sri Darshan Shankar has provided visionary leadership and played a key part, both in developing and institutionalizing the paradigm of inclusive growth, as well as in enabling many private as well as Govt. institutions to take its rightful place at the top table of nations.
On this honorable occasion, we, the members of Institute of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine (I-AIM) congratulate Sri Darshan Shankar, not only for his great darshan (vision), but also for his relentless actions.
